Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account to use Ardenta?

No. There's no sign-up and no login. Ardenta works immediately and is offline-first — your core data stays on your device.

How does Apple Health sync work?

In the app, open Settings and enable Apple Health. Grant the permissions you're comfortable with. Ardenta reads activity, steps, energy, heart rate, sleep, and body metrics to power your rings and Health Score, and can write water and completed workouts back to Health. You can change permissions any time in iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices.

How do I turn on iCloud sync across my devices?

iCloud sync is off by default. Enable it in the app's Sync settings while signed in to the same Apple Account on each device. Your data syncs through your own private iCloud — we never see it. Changes take effect the next time you launch the app.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are billed by Apple. On your device, open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions (or the App Store → your profile → Subscriptions) to upgrade, downgrade, or cancel. Cancelling stops future renewals; access continues until the end of the current period.

How do I restore a purchase?

If you reinstall the app or switch devices, open the Ardenta paywall/premium screen and tap Restore Purchases while signed in with the Apple Account used for the original purchase.

How do I request a refund?

Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Is my data private?

Yes. Ardenta runs no analytics, shows no ads, and includes no third-party trackers, and there's no account. Your logs live on your device and your own private iCloud. The one optional cloud feature is Enhanced AI — on by default, it sends the meals and activity photos you log to Google (Gemini) for a more accurate estimate, and you can turn it off in Settings → AI Analysis. Read the full Privacy Policy for details.

How do I delete my data?

Delete individual entries within the app, or remove all app data by deleting Ardenta from your device. If you used iCloud sync, you can manage that data in iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud.

The food photo or scale scan isn't recognizing correctly

Food recognition uses Enhanced AI, which is cloud-powered by default (with an on-device fallback); the smart-scale scan reads on-device. Both work best with good lighting and a clear, straight-on shot. You can always adjust or enter values manually, and you can switch Enhanced AI off in Settings → AI Analysis. If something looks off, email us a description (not the photo) and we'll investigate.
